H.264/AVC, Pro-level Codec
Pyro Kompressor HD’s H.264/AVC encoder is a powerful, hardware accelerated tool for converting video data into H.264 compressed video. H.264 is known by
several names including AVC (Advanced Video Coding), or MPEG-4 Part 10.
H.264 is being widely adopted and is already a major video standard because
it can replace several older, popular formats while offering significant image quality
and bitrate size. H.264 offers image quality which usually exceeds that of
MPEG-2 with as little as half the bit-rate and file size. Pyro Kompressor HD
H.264/AVC Pro offers excellent image quality. It supports all standard and
advanced features of the H.264 spec including Baseline, Main and High Profiles
as well as CABAC and CAVLC. The software also includes AAC (Advanced
Audio Coding) encoding and decoding. The encoder is ideal for a wide variety
of applications ranging from post-production to IPTV, web streaming, VOD,
archive, mobile, broadcasting and storage. It offers presets for Apple iPod, Sony
PSP, AVCHD and many more professional formats. The software also includes an
H.264 decoder, enabling playback of H.264/AVC files in Windows Media Player
and other compatible programs. H.264 is also the advanced compression
standard adopted for the newest Adobe® Flash® standard.
